| Eid Mubarak! |
I have often wondered how Ramadan can be so special for some people especially those who have times of intense spiritual renewal during this holy month. In fact, It does not only happen to Muslims but also other believers. No wonder This blessed month of Ramadan brings happiness, goodness, spiritual enlightenment, rewards, and physical and spiritual benefits to all people, if you believe so. Each years, Ramadan always brings me different stories of blessings. I am so grateful for anything that is on 'His Scenario' and I believe Ramadan can be a 'space' of gratefulness which always gets me closer to him. Glory to Allah.
In the previous Ramadan (2013), I can still remember how meaningful the time was when I had to serve as volunteer for doing a social project with colleagues from all over the world (Mostly Europeans and Asians). We spent great times together to share laughs and happiness with orphans that came from two different religions (Islam and Christian). The Children of Tomorrow Project mainly focused on the importance of education and language-English. The things that made it more special - for me- was the differences between the people involved in the project. It taught me very important lesson of the reality where Peace and Harmony do exist among the difference that we had. The paper concept of Unity in Diversity came in realization during Ramadan. I must say it was not easy of course to fast during the days while doing such very active-project, but that's actually challenge that surprisingly changes as joy, charitable giving and peace-making method for Muslim to make Ramadan more special.
In this Ramadan (2014), I feel grown up little bit faster as normal student (Perhaps), because in this Ramadan, I have now come to the last year of my study. it seemed just like yesterday (2011) I started to enter the world of university Haha. But that's not exactly the point here. I am feeling so blessed that I can work as intern during this period in one of great trustee institutions in Indonesia namely Millennium Challenge Account Indonesia. At least the excitement that I feel now is probably the result of 'God's suprise' on his countless supports of my hard effort which was started from Zero. Alhamdulillah I learned so many things that I can not actually express in details here, but I consider myself as lucky to work in such institution whose vision is align to my passion which is 'Eradicating Poverty Through Economic Activities'. It sounds cool indeed, the works inside are almost the same cool. Despite working, I guess it can be seen as pious activities too at the same time during Ramadan. In fact, what we are doing there is actually for benefits of many people in Indonesia.
Surprisingly there are another bonuses that I have never thought that I will get in this Ramadan which is the acceptance announcement from ASEAN Youth Exchange Program for August as Indonesian Delegate and Egypt project where I will be working with Cairo Center for Development and Human Rights from September to November. Oh Ramadan, I can never have enough words to express how special you are for all of us. Thank you Allah for trusting me to live in the space of Gratefulness where you always helped me to improve myself as better person for my religion and the world. Eid Mubarak Everyone! :)
"The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful." - Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) 2:185 - سورة البقرة
